Snorkeling & Scuba Diving

The Florida Keys are home to the third longest barrier reef in the world and the only tropical coral reefs in the continental United States. The best snorkeling and scuba diving experiences are found offshore on the vibrant coral reefs, with several fascinating shipwrecks to explore as well. While there are a few spots for snorkeling from shore, nothing compares to getting out on the reef. Snorkeling and dive charters are easy to find throughout the Keys. Two standout sites are Sombrero Reef and Looe Key, both protected areas surrounded by beautiful patch reefs.

Fishing

Fishing in Florida is more than just a pastime; it’s a way of life. In the Florida Keys, anglers can explore world-famous waters filled with tarpon, bonefish, snapper, and mahi mahi. Whether you're casting from a bridge, heading out on a charter boat, or exploring the flats, the Keys offer something for every level of fisherman. In Bonita Springs, the fishing scene includes both Gulf and freshwater spots. Cast a line from Barefoot Beach, try your luck in the back bays, or book a guided trip for snook, redfish, and trout. From early morning casts to sunset hauls, both destinations are unforgettable for fishing enthusiasts.

Sandbars & Boating

Boating and sandbar hopping are must-do experiences in Florida. In the Keys, the crystal-clear water and tropical landscape make every boat day feel like a dream. Cruise to iconic sandbars like the ones off Islamorada or the popular Whale Harbor spot, where you can anchor, swim, and soak up the sun. In Marathon and Cudjoe Key, sandbars like Marvin Key and the waters near Bahia Honda offer laid-back fun surrounded by natural beauty. In Bonita Springs, boating through the back bays and out to the Gulf gives you access to quiet islands and hidden beaches. Pack a cooler, gather your crew, and make memories out on the water.

Beaches

Florida is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the country. In the Keys, beaches like Sombrero Beach, Bahia Honda, and Coco Plum offer calm waters and scenic views perfect for relaxing or snorkeling. While many Keys beaches are smaller and more natural, their charm is unmatched. In Bonita Springs, wide stretches of white sand and gentle Gulf waves make places like Barefoot Beach and Bonita Beach ideal for families, sunbathing, and shell collecting. Whether you’re chasing a sunrise walk or a sunset swim, you’ll find the perfect spot to enjoy the coast.
